And so, we turn the page and it becomes the Biden/Harris Era. Will this chapter be a statement of conscious understanding, or will it again be a plateau that serves comfort and status quo?
There are many categories in which the status quo is becoming very uncomfortable. The pandemic, global warming, social unrest erupting into violence; it is all becoming familiar but not comforting by a long shot.
A common misconception is “what is familiar is safe and what is unfamiliar is fearful.” We live in an era when we must be brave enough to deal what is unfamiliar and be willing to be uncomfortable. We are not entitled to be comfortable at the expense of the suffering of others. We are not given an Earth to trash so we do not have to be inconvenienced.
There is a movement that explores evolving beyond self-interest. To see our connectedness is to part of that movement. To overcome the fear of suffering loss as others gain human dignity is to be part of that movement.
Ignorance is not knowing. Stupidity is resistance to learning.
The material view describes finite resources for which we all compete. The view of a Consciousness Movement is that there are infinite resources waiting for us to align and manifest. Like instruments tuned and ready to be part of an orchestra, the symphony is evolving. We cannot be a million soloists and create harmony.
Ram Das talks about fear being the result of feeling separation. There is a primitive part of us that knows we are toast as individuals. Primitive humans banded together to create communities because being one person against one lion does not favor the person!
We are at the crossroads of seeing that we are going to make it all together, or we are not making it. Compromise, compassion, community.
